One-step reduction-encapsulated synthesis of Ag@polydopamine multicore-shell nanosystem for enhanced photoacoustic imaging and photothermal-chemodynamic cancer therapy

Though imaging-guided multimodal therapy has been demonstrated as an effective strategy to improve cancer diagnosis and therapy, challenge remains simplify the sophisticated synthesis procedure for corresponding nanoagents. Herein, in-situ one-step reduction-encapsulated method reported, first time, synthesize multicore-shell polydopamine-coated Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs@PDA) a theranostic agent, integrating amplified photoacoustic imaging, enhanced photothermal promoted dual tumor microenvironment-coactivated chemodynamic therapy. The signal conversion efficiency of AgNPs@PDA nanosystem present 6.6- 4.2-fold enhancement compared those M-AgNPs-PDA (simply mixing PDA AgNPs) derived from increased interface heat transfer coefficient stronger near-infrared absorption. Importantly, coactivated by microenvironment (TME) enables controllable long-term release hydroxyl radicals (·OH) toxic Ag+, which can be further light irradiation. Moreover, high with prominent synergistic photothermal-chemodynamic treatment is also found in vitro vivo studies. As special mention, formation mechanism synthesized nanomaterials systematically investigated. This work provides much simplified construction versatile nanoplatform theranostics efficacy.
